I don’t remember much about my numerous graduations. My medical school graduation was the greatest accomplishment, but it’s a hodgepodge of images mostly. I remember who was there, and it was surreal.

I used to equate the Grateful Dead with Birkenstocks, tie-dyed shirts, and Subarus. I was a rocker, not a hippie. All that changed in April 2023.

If you ever want to guarantee my success, tell me I can’t do something. “You’re going to eat those words!” will be my reply before you even finish the sentence.
